CONCEPT:-
In one of Child Fund India Supported project No.2883 in collaboration with Sarvodaya Sewa Ashram in Bargarh,Chitrakoot(UP)under which 4 primary and junior school
25 Children’s age of between 11-14 year undergone art training program, it just an effort to motivate them or to enhance their creativity skill to see how they represent their idea of being protection against natural drought by the medium of their arts/drawings.
Event:-
First we let the children free to draw their own understandings then the inputs based on children concepts and also his owns understanding will be concatenate by the trainer on the drought management to forward the children on drought issues by the medium of art/drawing.
The Vision
So far this type of work had not been take place in any schools in the project area in a way to make their understanding better and also to refine their talent in a maverick way.
To introduce & enhance children understanding about the physical resources, social conditions and also about to safeguard from the situation.
Activities:-
Under physical resources situations children learnt about wells, hand-pumps, river, field, hill, forest, animal, and also about dry wellspring and how to safeguard themselves at the time of drought by the medium of drawings practiced in single and group tasks.
Identification of Social situation:-
By the medium of drawing and the help of trainer children knew about social situations at the time of drought and they displayed the different dreadful aspect of drought in their drawings like women carrying water from a long distances, mob is fighting over different wellsprings to get water, huge rush on ration shops and also people start migration from their native places,
Learning about safeguard from drought:-
· To do deepening work at the time of rainy season in order to store or use more rain water.
· To connect their terraces to store terrace water in a ground water tank.
· Special storage for preservation of hay & edible crops to use it at the time of unfamiliar situation of drought.
· To form less water storage seed banks.
· To make compost fertilizer with the help of earthworms and cow dung’s.
· To use natural means of pesticides like neem, cow-urine and so on.
· To make groups of youths to spread awareness about drought.
· To plant less water crops, fruit trees and also timber trees.
Recommendations
Children learnt about prevention & to safeguards themselves from drought.
Children enjoyed the activity and asked for such more activities.
