Child Protection Forum for Central Asia on the theme of juvenile justice

The Government of Turkmenistan in cooperation with UNICEF is organizing a Child Protection Forum for Central Asia on the theme of juvenile justice that will take place in Ashgabat, Turkmenistan on 30 May-1 June 2011. The objective of the Forum is to support on-going reform of juvenile justice systems in Central Asia by: providing a platform for experience and knowledge sharing across and beyond Central Asian countries; bringing visibility to the issue of juvenile justice in Central Asia – including through the documentation of good practices; leveraging support from partners working on broader rule of law agendas; and encouraging enhanced political commitments for the reform from high level representatives.

30/05/2011 - United Nations Committee on the Rights of the Child (CRC) - 57th Session

The Committee on the Rights of the Child (CRC) will hold its 57th session from 30 May to 17 June 2011 at the Palais Wilson in Geneva, Switzerland. The Committee will consider the reports of the following State parties to the Convention on the Rights of the Child: Bahrain, Cambodia, Costa Rica, Cuba,  Czech Republic, Egypt, Finland. The Committee will also consider the situation in Egypt with regard to the implementation of the Optional Protocol to the Convention on the sale of children, child prostitution and child pornography, and the Optional Protocol on the involvement of children in armed conflict.
