Girls feel more strength to fight against Sexual Violence after the Camp

  

                                                           






Last 2 years kolmajara Tribal Adolescent girl raped and murder by some family member .This news was very shocking for women and adolescent . Bargarh tribal Adulation is very poor. 80% gril worked in mines to support their parents.Ssa organized thematic camp to self empower every girls on dated 21 to 24 may 20011 at Bargarh supported by Child Fund India .3 village Adolescent group discussion and thinking about the possibilities & what to do if any type of utmost cases of SEXUAL violence happen .The session was facilitated by the renowned organization "Mahlia Samakya" in collaboration with SSA.
Bargarh which is located in the district of Chitrakoot in state of Uttar Pradesh where one of the CFI Partner NGO SSA (Sarvodaya Sewa Ashram)is working . The area is rocky, dry and draught prone and having lack of resources for livelihood, lack of transportation, education & medical facilities. Child Fund has been working in India since 1951 and currently serves over 1,600 communities, assisting the marginalized children and their families in remote areas on issues such as health, nutrition, education, livelihood, abuse, protection and participation.







 




As per the calculation in total 21,000 population of project area the children whom are into/or in between fall under a age group of    15 to 24 on an average 1043 boys and 735 girls are working in local silica mines  for comparatively less wages  to earn  their   livelihoods and also to secure their family food security.
In project area villages like kolmajra, Vinovanagar there is many discussion held in order to make aware about the sexual violence which has been take place in families ,their workplaces and so on with the  groups of teenage girls  whom are working for the well being of them in local areas.
There is thought that to make that working groups efficient in order to prevent sex violence cases of girls.
On dated 21-05-2011 to 24-05-2011 four days Thematic Camp on Sexual Violence against teenage girls was organized by Sarvodaya Seva Ashram with support of Children Fund in order to secure themselves  and to make them cognizant about the issues, that they should be enough capable to dealt with the up towards cases of sexual violence.
The experienced trainers of renowned organization name Mahila Samayakhya who have been working from years in this field selected to educate girls about the sensitive issues of sexual violence by the medium of games, group –discussions, movies, literature, sharing views and so on.
The subject taught by the trainers with interactions consolidated on four type of violence in very effective and easiest way.
The message which has given to teenagers are as follows:-
  • Girls should wear decent dresses and would have been careful about her security.
  • The talk which has not been acceptable by us is not being practiced with friends.
  • They also told about the child rights and from where it has been claimed.
  • Teenage girls should ensure her to how to protect bout any type of timeless up towards cases and also  information’s how to escape themselves,
  • They should also carry phone numbers, addresses along with them to protect us from any type of incidents. 

If any type of incident happened teenager girls should alert and immediately will contact to the officers related to the local area and have also a contact number of near relatives in order to save them before any type of incident will take place.
At the end of the camp following decision has taken by the teenage girls groups whom are attended the workshops:-
  • At least we will form teenage girls protection group in five villages and on 10June we will able to organize workshop on sexual violence in each five villages.
  • We will form one stage of girls who are using Right to information act and we will train them so that each village working teenager group will able to identify the problems of sexual violence and solve the problems accordingly.
